Camping with your four-legged friend can be a great adventure - if you are well prepared! To ensure that your vacation is relaxed and safe for both of you, we have put together the best tips for stress-free travel with your dog.
Not all campsites allow dogs, so you should check in advance. Make sure the site is dog-friendly, e.g. with designated dog walking areas or direct access to natural areas. Reviews from other dog owners can be helpful here.
On our campsite you will find a dog shower and an exercise area as well as free dog waste bags in several places.
To ensure that your four-legged friend doesn't miss anything, you should take the following things with you:
Make sure your dog is kept safe during the journey - in a transport box or strapped in with a special seat belt. Plan enough breaks so that your dog can move around and do its business.
If your dog has never been camping before, you should get him used to the tent, caravan or motorhome beforehand. Practice at home how to keep him calm when strangers or animals walk by.
In many cases, a dog fence is very useful. It allows your dog to run freely around the plot without the leash getting wrapped around chair or table legs. You can rent a mobile dog fence from us. It is around 30 m long and can be set up exactly as you wish.
Remember to protect your dog from the sun and rain. A shady spot and plenty of drinking water are essential in warm weather. In colder temperatures, your dog should have a warm blanket or dog coat.
Not everyone is a dog fan, so consideration is important. Keep your dog on a leash when required and make sure it doesn't bother other campers - be it by barking or curiously sniffing.
Plan walks and activities that your dog enjoys. Hiking, swimming in dog-friendly lakes, or exploring nature are great ways to create memories together.
Find out about the nearest veterinarian near your campsite so you are well prepared if something happens.
When you arrive at our campsite, you will receive a welcome pack that contains treats and all the information you need about the local vet and emergency services. We have a first aid kit at reception if your four-legged friend is not feeling well.
With these tips, nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable camping holiday with your faithful companion. Enjoy the time together in nature!
